A: A commercially acceptable European oak pattern can be achieved with 6 colors. A premium photorealistic version with open pore detail, grain variation, and natural color range typically requires 8 colors. For the most demanding luxury flooring applications — where the print must stand up to close inspection in a showroom — 10 colors are sometimes used to capture highlight and shadow transitions within the grain.
